Quilts are often assembled from textile remnants and represent fragments of memory while providing warmth and safety. By nature the act of constructing a quilt is peaceful, although the circumstances may not be.

The wood "quilts" are created with cedar siding salvaged from a home. The wood siding wraps and protects a home much like a quilt wraps and protects our bodies.

Quilts also provide a sense of home and direction. The map "quilt" was created with vintage geological maps, identifying aspects of physical place and reassembled to create a new place.
